Pune: Neolite ZKW Lightings Limited, a global supplier of automotive lighting solutions, has invested ₹70 crore in a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at Chakan, Pune, aimed at strengthening its capabilities in adaptive and next-generation automotive lighting technologies for the Indian and global markets.
Neolite ZKW Lightings commemorated the inauguration of the facility during a formal ceremony led by Won Yong Hwang, CEO, ZKW Group GmbH.
The plant, which commenced operations in December 2025, marks a significant step in expanding the company’s manufacturing, engineering, and technology footprint in India.

Neolite ZKW Lightings Expands Pune Operations with Focus on Adaptive Lighting
Strategically located near the Mumbai-Pune-Nashik-Aurangabad automotive corridor, the Chakan facility enhances Neolite ZKW Lightings’ ability to deliver advanced lighting solutions, including adaptive, LED, and dynamic lighting systems, while improving supply chain efficiency and responsiveness to OEM customers.
The Pune plant supports manufacturing of automotive lighting products and components across moulding, surface treatment, and assembly, and is designed to serve both electric vehicles and internal combustion engine vehicles, aligning with evolving mobility and safety requirements.
Neolite ZKW Lightings Strengthens Design and Engineering Capabilities
Alongside manufacturing, Neolite ZKW Lightings has established an independent design and engineering centre equipped with advanced simulation tools, optical design software, 3D modelling, prototyping, and validation infrastructure.
The centre supports in-house development of adaptive lighting systems, shortens time-to-market, and ensures compliance with global performance and regulatory standards.
Speaking at the ceremony, Won Yong Hwang, CEO, ZKW Group GmbH, said that India’s growing role in the global automotive industry makes it a key market for advancing new lighting technologies, and that the Pune expansion supports deeper collaboration in innovation and technology development.

Neolite ZKW Lightings Plans Phased Growth and Workforce Expansion
Rajesh Jain, Chairman and Managing Director, Neolite ZKW Lightings Limited, said the Pune facility reflects the company’s continued investment in capacity, technology, and talent to support customers and future growth.
He added that the company is also progressing toward operationalising its Kancheepuram facility.
Rajesh Soni, CEO, Neolite ZKW, stated that Phase 1 of the Pune facility is fully operational, with a ramp-up phase underway.
A Phase 2 expansion, involving further investments, is planned. The company currently employs around 200 people in India, with total employment expected to reach nearly 500 as operations scale.

Neolite ZKW Lightings continues to focus on emerging trends such as adaptive front lighting systems, dynamic lighting behaviour, pixel-based lighting, and LED technologies, while expanding its R&D and electronics capabilities to support lighting control systems and ECUs.
The company serves both domestic and export markets and sees India as a key growth driver for advanced automotive lighting adoption.
